JPC Group, Inc. was contracted to demo the old William Penn High School located at 1333

N. Broad St. in preparation for the construction of new athletic fields. The scope for the

project will include the demolition of four masonry concrete buildings, sub-surface

parking garage and sub-basement utility tunnels. Asbestos abatement and off-site

removal will be required due to asbestos containing materials being present inside the

buildings. The existing high school is approximately 475,000 SF and sits on a 9 acre site. The demolition of the existing structure, backfilling and grading will need to be coordinated with the construction of the new athletic facility which is scheduled to  

open in August of 2016. All work must be completed in accordance with the Project

Schedule and Site Plan which shows Phase 1 Abatement and Demolition Areas.
